There are those who say your body does a good enough job of detoxifying without needing to do colonics, or any other type of bowel cleansing. That may have been true 50 years ago, but unfortunately that is not our situation today. Most of us live stressed filled lives, live in which we are exposed to so many chemicals, pesticides, heavy metals, toxic residues in our environment and our foods. To reclaim our health we must do everything we can to bring the body into homeostasis, which includes paying attention to the health of our colon.
Colon hydrotherapy is a gentle internal bath using warm purified water to cleanse the anus, rectum, sigmoid colon, descending colon, transverse colon, ascending colon, and the caecum.
This bath is important as the colon plays a major role in detoxifying our bodies. Along with assimilating nutrients it is responsible for eliminating food and other body waste. As the colon does its work, It strengthens and protects our immune system from infection and disease. In a normal functioning colon there are billions of friendly bacteria along with non-friendly bacteria; in fact these bacteria make up 60 to 70% of our fecal waste. The friendly bacteria are responsible for keeping the ecosystem of our digestive track in balance and the unfriendly bacteria must be reduced as it causes many health problems. The unfriendly bacteria increase when the colons elegant balance is thrown out of order, by stress, chemicals, pesticides, heavy metals, toxic residues and poor food choices. Unfortunately, most of us do not have healthy bowels. Suffering from heartburn, indigestion, bloating, gas, constipation and diarrhea are extremely common, with well over 60 million Americans purchasing laxatives and antacids, spending over $1 billion on over- the- counter drugs every year.
Dr. Ann Wigmore, taught that all disease starts in the colon…
Important Points
To remain in homeostasis our bodies should eliminate the food we had eaten within 24 hour’s.
- Those persons, who eat the standard Western diet do not digest and eliminate their food in a timely and healthy manner. The average time the food remains in the digestive is from 60 to 70 hours.
- Constipation is one of the most frequent gastrointestinal complaints in Western countries. Each year in the United States there are over 2.5 million visits to doctors, by patients who are constipated.
- Those who are constantly constipated, or do not have regular bowel movements after eating, create unnecessary stresses on all of their bodies systems.
- The bowel is greatly affected when it is not healthy and balanced and diseases such as colonic polyps, diverticulitis, irritable bowel syndrome, ulcerated colitis, and colorectal cancer have become quite common in those who indulge in the standard American diet.
- The following illustration shows some of the diseases and problems that affect our digestive system.
Colonic Q&A
Why Do I Need A Colonic?
Fact: Auto intoxication takes place when old waste and toxic materials which are stored in your bowel enter the circulatory system and affect every organ and biological process in your body. When you suffer from auto intoxication you may feel ill, tired, loaded, depressed, lacking in energy, low sex drive and weak. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, you may benefit from colon hydrotherapy.
Fact: You may want to consider a colonic or an enema if you suspect that you have a health challenge in any of the following areas: Constipation, Candidiasis, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Ulcerative Colitis, Crohns Disease, Colitus, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Cancer, Hemorrhoids, Prostatitis, Enlarged Prostate, Allergies, Leaky Gut Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Gallstones, MS, Infertility, Acne, Eczema, Psoriasis, Body Odor, Mouth Odor, Peeling Lips, Rosacea, ALS, AIDS, Parasites, Infectious Diseases.
What Is Colon Irrigation, Colon Hydrotherapy?
Fact: Colon irrigation is a gentle effective procedure for removing fecal matter, yeast, mucoid plaque, excess mucus, chemicals, pesticides, heavy metals, food toxins, environmental toxins, anaerobic bacteria and parasites.
Fact: The human colon is approximately 5 feet long and 2 1/2 inches in diameter.
Fact: During your 45-60 minute hydrotherapy session, your therapist will introduce 15 to 35 gallons of warm filtered water into your colon. This water will remove impacted feces, dead cellular tissue, mucoid plaque, excess mucus, parasites, worms, yeast,
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
FACT: The number of treatments will be discussed with your therapist. Your therapist will assess your treatment requirements and will discuss them in detail with you. Depending on the condition of your colon, your therapist may advise a number of therapies spread out over a period of time after which you may want to enter into a preventive maintenance program.
Will I Be Embarrassed?
Fact: Our colonics room is en-suite, so there’s changing and toilet facilities right where you need them.
Fact: You will remove your lower garments while in complete privacy and then lie on the colonic table and cover yourself with a warm blanket, sheet or both. Then and only then will your therapist enter the room.
Fact: Your therapist will then only uncover the small area where the speculum will be inserted. The therapist will do a quick visual check for any hemorrhoids, etc. From this point on you will be completely covered.
Are Colonics Painful?
Fact: Some people, if they have large internal or external hemorrhoids may experience a slight irritation or pressure sensation when the speculum is initially inserted. Your therapist will work to make the experience comfortable.
Fact: When the bowels are impacted or you have had chronic constipation there may be some cramping when the colonic first begins. This will not last more than a few seconds. Your therapist will be monitoring your comfort level and will regulate the flow of the water, so you will not experience cramping.
Fact: Your therapist will do some ‘fills’ – where the water goes and you will feel an increased pressure in your bowel. When you feel like you need to go to the toilet your therapist will release the water the moment you tell them to. Your therapist is a trained professional and will be continually monitoring your progress and comfort levels.
Can Colonics Perforate My Bowel?
Fact: No
Fact: A normal bowel movement can build pressures of about 1.5 pounds per square inch.
Fact: A standard hospital enema applies pressure at about 2 pounds per square inch.
Fact: Our gravity-fed colonic system introduces water at a pressure of about 1.5 – 2 pounds per square inch.
Can I Catch Disease From Having A Colonic?
Fact: The water used for your therapy is clean double filtered.
Fact: Your colonic is performed using a disposable speculum and hose kit. For those who are use to a standard metal speculum which utilizes clinical heat sterilization which exceeds health department standards, insuring a safe therapy session, you may request your therapist to use this speculum instead of the disposable speculum.
Don’t Colonics Remove The Good Bacteria From My Bowel?
Fact: Colonics wash out both the good and bad bacteria as well as any trapped gases, waste matter and toxins.
Fact: Your body will immediately begin to place good bacteria into your bowels. To ensure that the bowel flora is as healthy as possible we will provide a probiotic supplement at the end of your colonic therapy. You may choose a probiotic in the form of a capsule, or utilize the rejuvelac which we prepare for you.
Fact: it is advisable to do a rejuvelac implant after your colonic therapy.
Will I Need To Be Near A Toilet After My Colonic Therapy?
Fact: Once your therapy session is complete you will come off the table and immediately go to the toilet as normal. The fecal matter which comes out will be watery, there’s no ‘leaking’ or cramping problems afterwards. You can go about your normal activities.
In times past, knowledge of the bowel was more widespread and people were
taught how to care for the bowel. Somehow, bowel wisdom got lost and it became
something that no one wanted to talk about anymore.”
